Hello and welcome to our website. Zuni Canyon Institute is dedicated to the passion of life-long learning. Since our founding in 1991, we have offered a wide range of classes and educational field trips, sponsored the production of writing projects and educational videos, held poetry readings and musical events, and offered an alternative high school diploma program with over a hundred graduates. ZCI is looking forward to a new decade of learning and hopes you will be part of our adventure.

11/12/2010 - Fall Recap
Fall signalled the end of family vacation time, and this brought an increase in enrollment for ZCI classes. The Lake Powell weekend and the trip to Santa Fe were blessed with great weather and were well-attended. The seminar in Toronto provided insightful growth opportunities for everyone. Again, the three-part Writers' Workshop was a hit and will be continued. Additionally, art classes will be added to the winter schedule. Next up: Grant applications for 2011.
9/3/2010 - Summer Recap
Summer was a successful season for ZCI. The three-part writing workshop was so popular that we are offering it again beginning September 29. The Music Appreciation Class was a true delight and very entertaining. The Historical Perspectives Class and Geology Class received a fair turn-out. Everyone had a great time, with the weather cooperating perfectly. Our fundraising got off to a slow start but as word spreads, we are hope to become more efficient with our efforts.
7/7/2010 - Glen Canyon
The July 3-4 anthropology trip to Glen Canyon was terrific and the weather was perfect. Kiva and dwelling sites were visited, preserved since the original studies from 1956-1966. A perspective on the Anasazi as desert foragers who learned to farm shows itself in modern-day Pueblo culture. Despite some transportation problems, everyone had a great time and benefitted from the hands-on experience.
6/26/2010 - New Fundraising Effort
On 6/26/2010, we launched an exciting experiment--licensed attorney Carol Bellhouse is providing legal consulting (Colorado law only) and Tarot readings (worldwide) for $25 for 10 minutes. The ZCI tent will be travelling around Colorado this summer, attending fairs, festivals and celebrations, or simply setting up by the side of the road, with a big banner that reads, "Ask Me Anything!"
